Spicy Lemon Fish Soup

Ingredients

For the Soup Base:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 red chili pepper, finely sliced (adjust to taste)
4 cups fish or chicken broth
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, with juices
1 cup water (optional, for a thinner broth)
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Fish and Veggies:
1 pound white fish fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces (e.g., cod, tilapia, or halibut)
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup diced celery
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
For the Lemon Flavor:
Juice of 2 lemons (about 1/4 cup)
1 lemon, thinly sliced for garnish
