Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup 🥣🍗✨

For the Noodles:

2 cups egg noodles (or any short pasta like penne or bowties)
Optional Garnishes:
Fresh parsley, chopped
Lemon wedges for added brightness
Crusty bread or crackers
How to Make Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup
Step 1: Sauté the Aromatics
Heat the olive oil or butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until softened.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 2: Build the Broth
Pour in the chicken broth, then add the shredded chicken, thyme, parsley, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Bring the soup to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Step 3: Cook the Noodles
Stir in the egg noodles and cook for 8–10 minutes, or until tender.
Pro Tip: If you plan to save leftovers, cook the noodles separately and add them to each serving to avoid sogginess.
Step 4: Taste and Adjust
Remove the bay leaf and taste the soup. Adjust the seasoning with additional salt or pepper, if needed.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve with crusty bread, crackers, or a side salad for a complete meal.
